An abundance of fruit in smell and concentrated expression on the palate. This wine is reflecting the poor mineral soil as well as the climatic differences between day and night. It demonstrates the greatness of this vineyard!

In the upper area, the soil comprises paragneiss, mica schist and amphibolite, while the foot of the slope is comprised mainly of limestone-free silicate brown earth and has a sandy, somewhat silty consistency with distinct gritty, stony portions. Rosé Blauer Zweigelt

Wine description

It represents an excellent aperitif or a fine wine for summer. The wine smells like a fresh white wine but on the palate it has less, smooth tannins from the Zweigelt grape.

The grapes for the Rosé come from the vineyards Hasel and Sandgrube. In the Hasel the soil consists of pure löss, whereas in the Sandgrube a more rocky and dry type of earth is persistent. Both vineyards from where we get the grapes are south-facing and therefore receive optimal sunshine hours.
Both the grapes from the Hasel as well as from the Sandgrube vineyard stitch through great development of flavours in the grapes.

Tasting notes

Fragrant like meadow flowers, charming and frisky at the palate, playful with a delicate mousse, elegant and fruity.

Serving suggestions

Easy and light cooking, fine fish, marinated sea fruits.

Grüner Veltliner Hasel

Wine description

The grapes for this wine come from the younger vineyards up to twenty years in the Hasel area. It is a perfect example of a typical Grüner Veltliner from the Kamptal Valley.

The soil is a result of the dry and cold climate of the Ice Age. Due to the effect of glaciers producing a high pressure on the land, quartz, limestone, mica and clay particles were pulverised. These loess soils retain deep reservoirs of moisture and rarely suffer from dehydration. The heart of this vineyard is the “Mittelhasel”, with a gentle incline towards the south; it is where our vineyards are located. As this location has always produced above average quality, the wine growers of past times were known to say: “A wine vintner without any Hasel will never get a wife”. Wines with a harmonious combination of strength, body, characteristic aromas and elegance are the result.
